DESCRIPTION
Professional equipment packed in a smart and hard-wearing case which lets you take with you everything you need. Especially useful in difficult areas or at disasters.
A good back-up when something enexpected happens and personnel must perform advanced work at short notice.
The machine is the lightest on the market. It weighs only 11 kg with battery. It works at its best with ropes with 2-3 % elasticity. It is quick and flexible to use. The batteries are changed easily and safely also when used at a height.
The ascender can handle ropes with a diameter of 10-13 mm and is certified for a maximum weight of 400 lbs/181 kg, but with the right rope it can lift 250 kg e.g. in a rescue situation. As a safety measure, there is an automatic overheating device which stops the motor if it is overheated. After a short rest it can be run again. We recommend, however, that during regular conditions, you work in accordance with the certification of the ascender – maximum 400 lbs/181 kg – so as not to damage it.
The throttle lever for going up or down, a continuous scroll switch, is adjusted with your thumb. Controlled lowering without the help of the motor can be done manually with a mechanical friction brake.
A Ronin ascender grabs hold of the rope through letting it be wound 2,5 times around a driving axis. This means that a Ronin ascender can lift more weight than others throughout time when using muddy ropes. Other ascenders grab rope with the help of blade wheels. It is not unusual that ropes full of e.g. concrete dust, wear these blade wheels down, which results in high costs for service and spare parts. Those using a Ronin ascender will not have to experience that.
(Mr Ronin has a fixed price for service on the ascender. A complete going-over and exchange of all worn parts are included).
ROPES TO BE USED IN THE ASCENDER:
– EN 1891 and EN 564
– Aramid or core jacket ropes
– 2-3 % elasticity is recommender (the lower the better)
As the rope passes through the ascender with its end at start-up there are certain demands. The end of the rope should be rounded and without shrink-wrap marking or tape. The end of the rope should be similar to a tip of an index finger.
